La Mantía Oliva

La Mantía Oliva is an olive grove estate with an olive mill in Alvear Oeste, General Alvear, in the southeast of Mendoza, that welcomes visitors to show them how olive oil is made. It can be visited as an agritourism experience within the south of the province.

The visit covers the whole process: the manual harvest of the olives, milling with traditional methods and mechanical extraction at the olive mill, without chemicals. Visitors walk through the olive groves, where varieties such as Farga, Arauco, Manzanilla, Empeltre and Frantoio are grown.

The experience ends with a tasting where you learn to distinguish the aromas and flavors of each variety, surrounded by olive trees, and with a talk about the benefits of olive oil in a healthy diet. It is an educational and sensory experience, designed for those who want to learn where the oil comes from and see the work on the estate up close. If you are interested in varietal oils and blends, it is a good stop.

How to get there and practical information

The estate is on Calle D, between 7 and 10, in Alvear Oeste, within the department of General Alvear. According to the official Mendoza tourism guide, public hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, from 5 to 7 pm. It is best to write or call ahead to arrange your visit; there are also updates on their Instagram, @lamantiaoliva. Since the manual harvest runs from April until the first hard frosts, that is the busiest time at the estate.
