How we verify our data

How we verify our data (nothing here is published on hearsay)

Every EN MENDOZA listing brings together data from sources that can be checked, is added or reviewed by our team and is checked again from time to time. Here's how.

Verification in numbers

Numbers as of 10/27/2026, calculated from the guide's data.

The sources

Where the data comes from

  • What the business itself publishes Our agents read the business's official website, its Google Maps listing, its social media and what is published about it. Hard facts (address, phone, opening hours, booking links) are only added with a source that can be verified, and we keep track of where each one came from.
  • The owners Owners can claim their listing for free and manage it from their account: fix details, opening hours, photos and links.
  • The people who use the guide Anyone can suggest a missing business or let us know about wrong information.

The sources of each listing are for our team's internal work and are not published.

The review

Nothing goes live without the team

What owners and users add is reviewed by the EN MENDOZA team before it's published: new businesses, the changes they suggest, reviews and photos.

What the team itself adds with the help of its agents (new businesses and corrected data) always carries the source of every hard fact and can be published directly. Text improvements, doubtful links and data that doesn't match between sources stay as a proposal until a person on the team approves it.

If two listings look like the same place, the system detects it before creating the new one: that way there are no duplicate businesses.

The periodic check

How often we look again

Every published listing is checked again once every 180 days: an agent compares the data with the business's website, Google Maps and its social media. What changed becomes a proposal for the team, what stays the same is marked as verified and, if the place seems to have closed, a person confirms it (it never closes on its own).

Every listing shows the date its data was last reviewed («Data reviewed on…»).

What «Verified by the owner» means

That the business owner confirmed the listing's data is up to date, or that we approved a change they suggested. The badge shows the date and lasts 6 months: if it isn't renewed, it goes away on its own.

It's different from our team's review: a listing can have both.

Guides and rankings

How the rankings are built

«Most popular» guides rank businesses with a score from 0 to 100 built from the guide's data. No place pays to be included or to move up.

  • 60 points Listing visits in the last 90 days
  • 25 points Score of published reviews (a few reviews weigh less than many)
  • 15 points Complete listing: photos, opening hours, description and website or social media

Tourist guides are suggested routes with real businesses from the guide. Featured listings and banners are advertising, are labeled as such and don't change the order of the rankings. See the guides

Spotted something wrong? Let us know and we'll fix it

Tell us which detail is wrong and what the right one is. Every listing also has the «Spot a mistake?» link. If it's your business, claim the listing and update it yourself.
