Bodega Calle is a winery founded in 1925 in Drummond, Luján de Cuyo. It was restored in 2001 by Elvira Calle de Antequeda, who, at almost ninety years old, decided to bring the building back to life and named her Gran Reserva after it: the Ca' de Calle Centenario.
Wines and winemaking
The winery works by gravity: the grapes are not pumped. The harvest reception platform is one and a half meters above the winery, the fruit is harvested in bins, selected bunch by bunch, and the berries enter whole into the concrete tank. It uses native yeasts and grapes from old vineyards grown without agrochemicals. The wines are aged in an underground cellar beneath the winery.
Its labels include the Ca' de Calle Centenario Gran Reserva, the Dharma Tinto Orgánico and Dharma Orange, La Mano Derecha Cabernet Sauvignon, El Necio Syrah, El Olvidado Tempranillo, the Alberti 154 Malbec (DOC Luján de Cuyo and Reserva) and the Baja Tanga rosé sparkling wine. It also makes wine for third parties.
Visits and stays
You can take a tour of the winery and cellar with a tasting of its wines, always with a prior reservation. For groups, there are barbecue lunches or dinners in the quincho, arranged with the winery. Next to the winery is the Chalet, a 1925 house for 2 to 8 people, with a two-night minimum, which is booked through Airbnb.
