Bodega Lagarde is a historic winery in Mayor Drummond, Luján de Cuyo, founded in 1897. Since the 1980s it has been owned by the Pescarmona family and today it is one of the best-known century-old wineries in the area, with an experience designed to welcome visitors.
Tours, tastings and food
The winery offers guided tours of the vineyards and the history of the place, with tastings in rooms prepared for that purpose. Tasting options include the Selección Fincas, which covers the different terroirs where they grow grapes: Mayor Drummond, Perdriel and Agrelo, in Luján de Cuyo, and Gualtallary, in the Uco Valley. There are also tastings of aging and premium wines. Tours are offered in Spanish and English.
There are two dining options. Fogón, vineyard cuisine, works with grilled meats and Italian cooking, with tasting menus and wine pairings from the winery's own labels. Zonda, landscape cuisine, offers multi-course menus with optional pairing. There are vegetarian and vegan options according to the official tourism guide.
Location and practical information
It is on San Martín 1745, in Mayor Drummond, about 20 kilometers south of the center of the city of Mendoza, right in the Luján de Cuyo wine route. It is easy to reach by car or with an agency transfer.
