Susana Balbo Wines

Susana Balbo Wines is a family winery in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, founded in 1999 by Susana Balbo, the first woman in Argentina to qualify as a winemaker. It sits at the foot of the mountains, surrounded by vineyards with views of the Cordón del Plata, and today it is one of the best-known wineries in the area for wine tourism.

Visits, tastings and experiences

Guided tours cover the vineyards, the tank room and La Capilla, the microvinification space where the winery carries out its trials and makes its high-end wines. There are different tastings: from a selection of the house's best-known lines, such as Críos, BenMarco, Susana Balbo Signature and Nosotros, to more exclusive tastings with collectible wines. If you like getting hands-on, there is Blend Art, a workshop where you create your own blend with different varietals, and there are also cooking classes with Argentine recipes paired with the winery's wines. Susana Balbo is also known for having championed high-end Torrontés.

Food and spaces

Inside the winery is Osadía de Crear, the house restaurant, with 4- and 6-course paired menus, prepared with seasonal products and vegetables from its own garden. It received the Michelin Green Star from the Michelin Guide in 2024 and 2025 for its work in sustainability. At Espacio Crios, picnics and sunset gatherings are held in the garden among the vineyards, and the winery also offers brunch and afternoon tea. The gardens and halls are used for corporate events, private parties and weddings.

How to get there and practical information

The winery is on Cochabamba street, in Agrelo, an area with many renowned wineries, about 30 to 45 minutes by car from downtown Mendoza. All experiences require advance booking, which can be made online, by email or via WhatsApp with the tourism team. It is best to book ahead, especially if you want to combine the visit with lunch at the restaurant.
