Finca Bandini

Finca Bandini is a family winery of high-end wines in Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo. It was founded in 2019 by Federico Bandini, a Mendoza native who was living in Houston and returned to his province. He bought an 77-hectare property at the foot of the mountains, rebuilt the estate almost from scratch and planted Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The winemaking is led by consultant Marcelo Pelleriti.

Visits and tastings

The classic visit is a tour of the vineyards by golf cart, passing century-old walls and the area's historic water channels. Then comes a guided tasting with a sommelier on the terraces of the House of Wines, a old Mendoza-style house with a view of the vineyards. With advance booking you can also tour the estate by bicycle or on horseback. They also organize the Viento Andino Sail Tour, which combines a sailboat ride on Dique Potrerillos with lunch at the winery.

Wines and food

Their lines are Unique Terroir, Magno Corpore, Los Muros and Dos Cauces. They make Malbec, Cabernet, Chardonnay, blended whites, sparkling wines and, as a novelty, a dry Gewürztraminer and a naturally sweet one. The restaurant serves author Mendoza cuisine with seasonal products, in three menus paired with the house wines: a three-course daily menu, a five-course seasonal menu and an eight-course fire menu. All menus include a winery visit. There are options for vegetarians and people with celiac disease, and a children's menu, so families are welcome. They also host weddings, corporate events and private celebrations.

How to get there

The estate is on Callejón Peralta, on the border between Las Compuertas and Vistalba, about 25 minutes by car from the City of Mendoza. It sits next to the old course of the Mendoza River and has an open view of the Cordón del Plata. The winery has no transport of its own, but remises or private transfers are recommended.

Practical information

It is open every day, including public holidays. Tuesday the restaurant is closed, but winery visits continue, and in summer they extend their hours. For lunch, it is best to book at least 48 hours in advance, especially on weekends. Reservations can be made via WhatsApp or through the online system on their website.
