The Reserva Municipal Laguna El Trapal is a protected natural area on the outskirts of General Alvear, Mendoza. It covers about 45 hectares of land with native vegetation and lagoons formed by the meanders of the Atuel River.
The wetlands support wildlife, and there are dunes with archaeological remains. The flora and fauna make it a site for photo safaris and birdwatching. The lagoon is also known for its fishing qualities.
The reserve has a perimeter fence and works as an agritourism circuit, given its biodiversity. If you are going with kids or with a camera in hand, it is a relaxed outing for a day.
