Álamo National Rent a Car

Álamo National Rent a Car is the car rental office shared by the international brands Alamo and National Car Rental in Ciudad de Mendoza, in the city center. From this counter, vehicles booked with either brand are picked up and returned, without having to go to the airport.

What you can rent

The fleet includes cars, SUVs, vans and pickup trucks. It works well both for touring wineries and the High Mountains and for getting around for work. Bookings are made through each brand's website, choosing the "Centro de Mendoza" office: there you select the vehicle, the dates and the protection options. The brands also have counters at Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport, on National Route 40, so you can combine pickup downtown with return at the airport, or the other way around, depending on what suits you best.

Rental requirements

To rent you must be between 21 and 75 years old, and drivers aged 21 to 24 are charged an extra fee. When picking up the car, you must present a recognized credit card in the name of the renter (American Express, Mastercard and Visa are accepted) and a valid driver's license from your country of origin. If your license does not use Latin characters, you will also be asked for an International Driving Permit. The office also accepts Chinese licenses certified by a notary.

Location and how to get there

The office is at unit 6 on Primitivo de la Reta street, a few blocks from the Palacio de Justicia (Courthouse). The brand's directions are to take Avenida España, then Martín Zapata, and turn onto Primitivo de la Reta. It is a block with several rental companies together, near the downtown hotel area, which is useful if you are staying in the city and don't want to travel to find a car.

Practical information

It is best to book online in advance, especially in high season and during the Vendimia, to make sure you get the type of vehicle you want. On arrival, go to the counter to sign the contract and receive the keys. If you have questions about your booking, you can call the downtown office.
