## About Bodega Florio

Bodega Florio is a winery in Cruz de Piedra, Maipú, founded in 1912 by Antonio Florio, an Italian immigrant. With more than a century of history, it keeps European tradition in wines such as Gamba di Pernice and Nebbiolo, and in its fortified wines. Over the years, two Argentine families joined and promoted new styles.

## Wines and specialties

The house stands out for its fortified wines (Marsala, Moscato, Port and Sherry) and its sparkling wines. It also makes varietal reds such as Malbec and Chardonnay, as well as natural sweet wines and wines for aging. It works with red grapes such as Malbec, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Merlot, and white grapes such as Torrontés, Muscat, Chardonnay and Pedro Ximénez. Marsala is its main production: according to the winery itself, it supplies a large part of the country's ice cream parlors for sambayón. The rest of the wines are made in small quantities and are available mostly at the winery and in some wine shops.

## The visit

Florio has been opening its doors to visitors for more than ten years. The tour goes through the vineyards and the inside of the winery, where the production processes can be seen, and ends with a guided tasting of the different styles. There is also a selection of local products. Tours are given in Spanish and English, and the winery reports that it has its own restaurant.

## How to get there and practical information
